He settled in North Belmont about 1850; signed the petition of 1854; was on the Civil War enrollment list in 1863; was tax collector of Morrill 1869 and 1884-85. He was charter member of honesty Grange when it was organized in 1875. His whole stand of buildings was burned to the ground July 1, 1884, but he rebuilt them. The unique architecture of his new home interested and puzzled viewers. |

He was an auto dealer for the Chrysler Corporation; was a member the National Automobile Association; the New England Farm Equipment Association; was President of Waldo Fish and Game Association, and a member of all Masonic bodies. He has served as County Commissioner since 1934 and has been President of the Moosehead Lake Railroad since 1934.

Leroy was a farmer and a automobile dealer, He resided in Belfast, Bangor and Morril Maine. He owned and operated a Dodge dearlership at the Belfast circle across the steet from the post office and was a landmark for years till it was torn down to build a bank.

From the Obituary. Mrs Frances J. Paul, 77, widow of Leroy A. Paul, died unexpectedly in a Belfast hospital Sunday. She was born at Rockland Feb. 18, 1893, daughter of Wilfred E. and Harriette (Gilmore) Jones. She is survived by one son, L. Wilfred Paul of Northport; one daughter, Mrs. Marion Field of this town of Belfast; two grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and one cousin. Funeral services will be held at 2p.m. Wednesday at the Ratcliffe Funeral Home conducted by Dr. Daniel Fenner of the First Church of Belfast. Interment will be in Grove Cemetery in Belfast.
